So summer is deffinitly here in Texas. Heat index of 110! I wanted to share some pics of Mackenzie's love for water! I also wanted to show her playroom since I haven't yet. We are still staying busy here. Matt's trip to Colombia is booked for September 25th. So we are trying to get ready for that. September looks to be a busy month in the Allphin household!

So yes I know its been like 3 months since my last post. I'm not very good at this blog thing. Mackenzie is growing so much each day. She turned one on July 6th and I swear she had a week celebration! My sister came into town as well as my aunt Angelia and we just had a great time. Her birthday party was phenomenal! I now understand the effects of sugar on a child! Thank you to all who came. Matt and I created a playroom for Mackenzie, which I will post pictures soon, and she just loves to play in it. We are still not walking but close. I was a very late walker so I'm guessing she's taking after me. She is a very easy going baby and likes to do things in her own time! She deffinitly looks like daddy and dada is still her favorite word. We have gotten LaLa (thanks to Lauren), mommy, and nana but currently she just like to point at everything and have you tell her what it is. She is getting more teeth every day, I think we are up to 10 maybe? Matt and I have been staying busy with work and what not. Right now he is scheduled to leave for Colombia in Oct. but that seems to change daily. Our summer so far has been hot and humid but we are enjoying it. This weekend Lauren and I are going to see Laday Gaga and then the following weekend we are taking Mackenzie to Birmngham for my 10 year reunion. I can't wait to see my girls!! And for anyone who doesn't know by now, my sister is having a boy, Ty Daniel and is due in Oct. I can't wait to have a nephew. Other then that life is good. We have a few more concerts this summer and I'm hoping to make a trip in the fall to Chicago to see the Reid's! Hopefully I will be better at keeping the blog up!

Spring 2010

We have been one busy family! My 9 month old is all over the place! She is beginning to crawl, well backwards that is! So we know she is going to be on the move. She is loving trying to pull herself up and is just so ancy to get somewhere! Dada is officially her first word and she seems to want to say anything but moma. Oh well. We have had so much going on in the past couple months. As you know my sister got married in Jan, and is now expecting in October! We are so excited to have a neice/nephew for Mackenzie to play with. We took a trip back in March to MS to visit Mimi and Pop and Mackenzie met her boyfriend Gray. We had such a good time and got some great pictures. All of our weekends seem to be filled and we are just hoping soon for some time to relax. We have been enjoying the great Texas weather but not sure if we are ready for our hot summers, guess we will be at the pool!

6 Months Already

I can not believe that Mackenzie is already 6 months! It's been an interesting past month or so. Mackenzie got her first tooth on New Year's day! Feet, hands, you name it stay in her mouth. We had a great trip to Hawaii for Aunt Mar's wedding. Mackenzie was awesome on the planes, never one cry. We got so many complimants on what a good baby she was. She loved the sand and the ocean, so much in fact I think she will be spending summers in Hawaii with Uncle Danny and Aunt Mar. She is working really hard on sitting up, she does it for about 10-15 mintues at a time until she topples over! She has such a personality now. She really enjoys grabbing Matt's face on his cheeks and licking him, its quite cute! Today was a great day, Mackenzie did full body paint at school and then her newest friend, Brinley, was born today and we can't wait to meet her. We are hoping that this new year gives us more time to hang with friends and family and hopefully getting to see some friends we haven't seen in awhile. Love and miss everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We are so excited to be celebrating Mackenzie's first Thanksgiving.
Her Mimi was in this past weekend and brought her this cute bib. Her Zoomer and Melissa are in town
this weekend to spend thanksgiving with us. Nana and Papa drove to SC this past week to spend the week
out there and we miss them bunches! Things have been going really well here. She is trying so hard to sit up
these days and can't wait for her to master it. We are having so much fun just watching her grow, smile and laugh at us.
We are so thankful for all our many blessings!

16 Weeks!

Mackenzie is going to be 16 weeks tomorrow. She is getting so big! She seems to have come down with a very bad cold that doesn't want to go away. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it but I hate it for her. We took her to the doctor last week and she was 12 lbs. 10 oz and 24 inches. We go back to the doctor in two weeks for more shots :( Other then that she is so much fun to be around. She giggles and smiles all the time and talks to us! She still sleeps 10 hours at night which we love. Last weekend we did her 3 month photo shoot which are where the pictures are from. Matt and I are good, he was in Boston this past week, at the Ranch this weekend, and then goes to London next Sunday. After that he should be home the rest of the year!! Mackenzie, Mom, and I went to the Galleria yesterday and went shopping and she loved every minute of it, I think we are going to be in trouble as she gets older! Everything else is going good here in TX. The weather has been awesome the past week so we hope that stays!

Getting Bigger!

Mackenzie seems to be getting so big. At her last doctors appointment she was 10lbs. 6 oz (50th percentile) 23 inches (75th percentile) and her head was 13.75 (50th percentile) ! She had a lot of shots that day but recovered nicely. I started back work 2 weeks ago and she has been staying with her Nana, which she loves. On Monday she starts day care so we will see how that goes! Matt was in Peru this past week and got back this morning. We are so excited to have him home! Mackenzie smiles all the time and has a really cute giggle now that makes us laugh! She is getting much better at holding her head up. She'll be 12 weeks on Monday so hopefully we are going to do her 3 month pictures soon. We've been staying really busy with work and just being with her. Tomorrow we are off to Oktoberfest with our favorite people, Lauren, Joey, & Sophia, for some German beer and food!

First Football Weekend!

Mackenzie is ready for her first Auburn Football Game today!! Thank's to JR who sent her this cute shirt to wear on game day! All is well here, Matt has been in Africa all week and is to return tomorrow. He is really sad that he is missing all this football. Mackenzie is getting bigger by the day, she goes to the doctor next week so we will see how big she is! She is much more animated now smiling and trying to laugh at us. Her laughs are kind of shrieks right now! I start back work in a week and not looking forward to leaving her behind but her grandma will be taking good care of her until her spot opens at day care!

1 Month

It has now been a little over a month and we are all doing great! Last week at her one week visit, Mackenzie was 8lbs. 6 oz. and was 21 inches long. She was measuring in the 50th percentile for all things!! She has been sleeping 6-7 hours a night which has been heavenly for Matt and I. We have an exciting week ahead, Mary Lyn and Danny will be here on Wednesday to finally meet Mackenzie and we are so excited. Then on Thursday her cousin Olivia will be here, and then her Mimi and Zoomer will be there this weekend for her Baptism which will be on Sunday. We are also going to get to see Nick, Chase, and Samantha this weekend which we are excited about! Mary Lyn's Birthday is Saturday so we will be celebrating that as well - so as you can see super busy! Here as some other pictures from her photo shoot that we had done. Mackenzie Lyn Allphin has arrived. She was born on Monday July 6, 2009 at 10:26PM and weighed 6lbs 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. She is the sweetest and most wondeful thing that has ever happened to us and we love her with all our hearts!! We came home yesterday and everything has gone pretty smoothly. Thank you to all our friends and family who have cooked and just helped us out, we appreciate everything. We can't wait for everyone to meet her!!

37 WEEKS!!

I am now 37 weeks! As of last week I was 1 cm dilated and 80% thinned. I have another appointment tomorrow so we will see if anything has happened. As of right now if she doesn't come early, the Dr. is going to induce me on July 8, 2009. We are looking forward to this date! Things have been good, we have been relaxing by the pool and trying to stay cool in this HOT Texas weather. Matt was able to get out and play golf on Father's Day which he enjoyed. We can't wait for Mackenzie to come!!

34 1/2 weeks

This picture was taken at 34 1/2 weeks. I went to the Dr. yesterday and I'm .5 cm dialated and 80% thinned out so its a start. She says that Mackenzie should be here on her due date and possibly early! We will see. Not too much going on here. My work threw me a surprise baby shower last week which was really sweet. We only have a few things left to get ready for her arrival! Matt and I both have been busy with work during the week and hanging out with our friends here on the weekends at the pool!

Here is Mackenzie! We managed to get a few shots of her but as you can see in the first one, she kept her big foot in her face! The first one is a video that should play that will show her move her foot and hand up. The family says that she has my dad and mine pug nose so we will see! Also for those who have been asking, we are registered at Babies R Us.

Busy Busy Busy!

I am now almost 30 weeks so enjoy the pictures. We have been so busy this past month. Lauren, Ann, & Amber threw me a baby shower two weekends ago which was wonderful! Mackenzie got so much wonderful stuff that her nursery is packed with goodies. Last weekend we were in Atlanta for Katie's wedding and she threw me a baby shower where Mackenzie got more stuff, and lots of cute clothes. Last night we went to see Dave Matthews and Mackenzie kicked the entire concert, I think she's a fan! This month is going to be just as busy. Matt left today for Chile for the week and we have our hospital tour and other hospital classes. We also are doinga 4-D Ultrasound on the 21st and we will post pictures once we get to see her precious face! Enjoy the pictures of Matt surrounded by girl stuff!

26 Weeks!

So I am now 26 weeks and on Monday will be 27 weeks! I am finally letting you see my belly! I'm starting to finally grow, I think she went through a growth spurt last week, even my friends here could tell I grew overnight! This past week I had my glucose test, I failed it the first time and had to do the 3 hour test (they don't let you eat for 12 hours, how mean). But I finally passed, thank goodness! Other then that we are just still getting her nursery together. We ordered her glider about 6 weeks ago so that is the main thing we are waiting on. Lane is coming in this coming weekend for my shower that Lauren, Ann, and Amber are throwing me so Im excited about the. The next weekend Matt and I are off to Atlanta for Katie's wedding!

19 1/2 Weeks

19 1/2 weeks! She got measured today and she is
about 10 ounces! She's looking a bit skeletal today! Everything is going well though. Matt is getting prepared for his trip to Africa within the next couple weeks and then the Rodeo will be in town! We are going to see Brad Paisley!!

Mackenzie Lyn Allphin

We have finally decided on the name Mackenzie Lyn Allphin :) This is our 16 week pictures where we went to confirm that she was girl. We get to go back to the Dr. on Feb. 9th where we will get our 18 week pictures. Hopefully she will be moving around a bit. So far she just likes to sleep at the appointments. We are getting close to having the nursery done. We have painted it pink! And we picked up the furniture this weekend. All Matt has left to do is the crown molding and chair rail which he plans to do while I'm in Atlanta next weekend. I'm finally starting to get a small bump but I have only gained 3 pounds - I'm sure it is all to come soon enough. We did buy her her first bathing suit this weekend which she will be wearing when we go to Hawaii this December for her Aunt Mary Lyn's wedding!! I will update again when we get the nursery done and we get her 18 week pictures! Love everyone.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Last night we found out we were having a girl!!! Matt and I decdied to do the genetic testing and through a company here in TX they have been testing using a blood test to do find out the gender early. They call it the Jack and Jill test and they are 99% accurate. So last night we learned that all are genetic test were good and that we were having a girl!! I'll get updated pictures at 16 weeks and then more at 18 weeks. We almost have the name chosen and will let you know the final decision soon!

Baby on the Way!

So we are trying to figure our this blog thing, so bare with us until we figure all this out!!

Matt and I are pregnant and I am about 14 weeks. We are going to find out this week the sex of the baby thanks to a Jack and Jill test that is only done by this company here in TX. We are looking very forward to finding out!! I'm due July 13th and there is so much to do before then!
